ClassCloud – Using Hand In and Hand Out
LearnPad ClassCloud is secure cloud storage which is used in conjunction with LearnPad InClass features (Hand In and Hand Out).
Hand In is a feature of LearnPad InClass that allows students to submit their work (such as documents or photographs) to the teacher. The teacher can easily view, edit, save, print or send back the documents from within the LearnPad portal.
Hand Out is a feature of LearnPad InClass that allows teachers to send documents to either an individual or a group of LearnPads (such as a marked copy of a student’s work or an exam paper).
ClassCloud chronologically archives students work and allows each school to store up to 2GB of student documents free of charge. Additional storage can be purchased if required.

To hand in work:
1. Locate the document that you wish to send (hand in).
2. Touch and hold on the document name until the file management toolbar appears. Choose ClassCloud.

After you have handed in a document you may see one of the following icons in the notification bar:

|
| Indicates the upload has been queued. (This will happen if a network connection is not available.)
|
| Indicates that the upload has failed. The upload will be re-attempted until successful.

Limiting File Sizes
To prevent large files from being submitted via Hand In or Hand Out, Admin users are able to set a maximum size – the default file size is 10MB. This is an organisational level setting.
1) At the top right hand side of the page click on the organisation name
2) In the “ClassCloud Settings” section, click the pencil icon to edit the size limit for Hand In and Hand Out – Note: The size shown in in bytes.
Send work to other devices
Before resources can be exchanged between devices, this must first be enabled in the ClassConnect Portal. To do this:
- Log into the ClassConnect Portal.
- Click your organisation name in the top-right of the page.
Under Device Settings, change Allow Neighbour Sharing to Yes.
When sending files to neighbouring devices, all devices available within the school are displayed by default. If devices have been assigned to a place however, they will only be able to send to devices within that place. This makes it easy for teachers to ensure that pupils can only send to devices within the same class, for example.
